Started by the World Typewriter Company, production of this charming index machine was later taken up by the Pope Manufacturing Company of Boston, that also produced bicycles. Pope placed the instructions for use of the World 2 typewriter on a small metal plate on the wooden base of the machine.
The only difference between the World 2 and the earlier World 1 is that the World 2 wrote both lower case and upper case letters.
