Victor

First year of production:
1890
Company:
Victor Typewrite Company , Boston , USA
Serial nr:
10058

The Victor is another highlight in typewriter development. It was the first daisy wheel typewriter. Rubber type was fixed to the inside of the metal daisy wheel and was pushed against the paper with a spring-driven hammer on pushing the print key.

The Victor had a semi-circular index card. The pointer directly turned the daisy wheel when it was moved along the index. Inking was done by two small ink pads, that brush against the typewheel as it moves (see red pads in pic 6).
